Hello Julien and others, Heh, I have almost forgotten what this was about; gv was not able to display large .ps files. It got hung after certain amount of pages, but I can't remember what was the magical limit.
Sorry, but I don't have any suitable free hardware to install native Debian testing/unstable distro on. But I have Ubuntu 10.04 installed and patched up to date. Ubuntu is Debian-based? Installing gv from the standard distribution package there, I tested with a file that is bigger that my test files two years ago, and the problem is not there any more. Using synaptic, checking the installed libxt6 version, I see that 1:1.0.7-1is the one that I have. And I am pretty sure that this is no testing branch. To me, it seems that the problem has been fixed somewhere. Thanks for you all, and Merry Christmas. -juha Julien Viard de Galbert kirjoitti 17.12.2010 kello 17:57:06: > Hello Juha Takala, > > About two years ago, you filled this bug report: > > On Thu, May 22, 2008 at 10:22:19AM +0300, Juha Takala wrote: >> Brice Goglin writes on 22.5.2008 07:42:29: >>> Juha Takala wrote: >>>> Brice Goglin writes on 21.5.2008 23:48:03: >>>>> Juha Takala wrote: >>>>>> Package: libxt6 >>>>>> Version: 1:1.0.2-2 >>>>>> Severity: important >>>>>> >>>>>> >>>>>> I found the problem while viewing large documents vith gv, and I am not >>>>>> very knowledgeable in X terminology, so I apologise, that I will >>>>>> describe the problem in terms of gv: >>>>>> >>>>> >>>>> Any chance you try with libxt6 from testing instead of etch/stable? > [...] > > Can you test it with today's testing/unstable version: 1:1.0.7-1 > > Thanks for your time. > > Best Regards, > > -- > Julien Viard de Galbert <[email protected]> > http://silicone.homelinux.org/ <[email protected]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
