It has been forwarded upstream and fixed upstream. If I understand https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30528 correctly, commit e0066e77e026b0dd0daa0c3765473c7d63aa6753 fixes the bug in the upstream code.
I can confirm that this problem seems to have disappeared in the latest version of Xorg.
