Using metacity (basically a standard Gnome2 with a couple of very minor gconf tweaks). > If yes, does it happen with a different one, or with none at all? I tried going into System -> Preferences -> System Settings -> Display Effects and tried: - Turning off desktop effects - CHoosing OpenGL compositing - Choosing XRender compostiting None of these seemed to have any effect. I even tried setting them logging out and then logging back in. Problem remains.
