Package: xserver-xorg-core Version: 2:1.7.7-13 There seems to be a very similar bug with radeon cards not only for powerpc. Details at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/300310 The patch shown there makes x server not to hang and allows it to run sdl programs.
