You should not use my patch, it only unnecessarily complicates things by splitting the package. The original patch by Andreas is fine, it's just waiting for someone to apply it.
I compiled the packages with that patch and use them successfully for a month now, you can find them at http://www.ralfj.de/upload/debian/ - but use them at your own risk only!
