Please try version 1:1.0-4-1 from experimental. If the problem persists, please open a bug on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/. Choose product "xorg", component "Driver/nouveau" and let us know the bug number. The bug appears to be specific to powerpc (likely some endianness issue), and nobody in the X Strike Force has PowerPC hardware with an NVidia card.
