Package: compiz
Version: 0.5.2-1
Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line ***
When using metacity, the top panel in Gnome (Applications menu etc.) is
sacred. Never ever will anything move on top of it. In Compiz this
works only 95% of the time, even with the "place" plugin installed.
To reproduce:
1) Move a window up towards the top panel, where it will
stop, so that it is sitting next to the top panel. Release
the mouse button.
2) Try to push the window further up, by clicking on the window
title *while moving the cursor up*. Important: Only works if
the cursor is already in motion while you click.
3) See the window block the top panel, or disapear somewhere on
top where it cannot be grabbed again.

You might say "so don't do that", but as a matter of fact,
I do that unintentionally three or four times per day on average,
and very often resort to xkill or Ctrl-v to get rid of the
window. I really think this is a bug that should be killed ; )
Compiz really is a good replacement for metacity for me, if
it were not for that bug.
TIA
/ralph
