Without active systemd-logind session one won't get all funcions systemd offers. (Power management commands for example.) It also breaks policykit-1=0.105-5 functionality. [2] Assuming for an active systemd-logind session, X has to run on same tty where login occured, the xserverrc file might be a good place to modify.
