Hi, I think it's important that I share a a few words to let you know about my bad experience with the current state of Intel video drivers in Debian.
I have a Lenovo x240 with Intel HD4400 driving a Dell U3011 monitor. * The driver in Jessie was causing troubles with the monitor. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81816 I've been told to upgrade my driver, because it was not supporting my video card. * When I did upgrade the driver to latest Debian experimental (2:2.99.914-1~exp1), it fixed my problems, but I started experiencing issues where my gnome terminals did not refresh at every keystroke. Downgrading the gnome terminal to wheezy did not help, and the only thing that had changed was the Intel video driver, Finally, I compiled and installed the latest official driver release from Intel (https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads) 2014Q2 Intel Graphics Stack Release (version 2.99.911), and everything works like a charm since then. If I look at Ubuntu, their current stable release is shipping with "2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1". I'm wondering why it's not possible to find a Debian package of the latest "Intel Graphics Stack Release" in any of Debian wheezy/jessie/sid/experimental ?
