Thanks for the answer and the links ! Indeed, this is an interesting parameter in this case : the corrupted graphics are still here, but the computer does not hang (like with the 3.12 kernel). I checked dmesg again, and nouveau did not report anything while running Cinnamon, only with Gnome, but maybe this is only a coincidence. Let me know if I can test something else.
