Hi, I am not sure this is an X server problem. I started seing this with vim-gtk in Ubuntu after upgrading to LTS 14, which runs in an VMware VM. And I also see this in Terminator now, which runs on a native Linux (laptop, AMD, radeon). And also sometimes in the VM.
