Package: x11-xserver-utils Version: 7.7+7+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I installed minimal Debian system from netinst iso. Then, I installed Xorg this way: apt-get install --no-install-recommends xserver-xorg xinit xterm Now, I would like to install x11-xserver-utils. This package is 160 KB big. But when I try apt-get install --no-install-recommends x11-xserver-utils it wants to install 27 MB of data. This is WRONG. It reports that the package needs to download and install (among others) these additional packages: cpp cpp-6 libisl15 I do not see why to install cpp. This is WRONG. I expect you to drop cpp dependencies because it should not be there. Maybe move it to *recommends*, but no reason to require it. Thank you for fixing this. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages x11-xserver-utils depends on: ii cpp 4:6.3.0-4 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u1 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.4-3 ii libxaw7 2:1.0.13-1+b2 ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.14-1+b4 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1+b2 ii libxi6 2:1.7.9-1 ii libxmu6 2:1.1.2-2 ii libxmuu1 2:1.1.2-2 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.1-1 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.10-1 ii libxt6 1:1.1.5-1 ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.1.4-1+b2 x11-xserver-utils recommends no packages.
