It's been a few *years* and nothing seems to have happened. Can the bug submitter please confirm this still happens?? Anyway, from the bug description, this looks very much like an error in the application, not in XLib. Probably the XImage structure was not created properly. XDestroyImage() is used *all over* every single X application, directly or indirectly via toolkits; something this blatantly wrong would've showed up in many other places.
