I have run into this same problem with the ds4 debs, but my card is a Radeon 8500 (not much different than the 9000). Also, I get a bunch of ethernet frame errors from my 3com 905b card when using ds4. This does not happen with 4.2.1-6--not sure if these problems could be related. Both of these problems occur with or without DRI and kernel driver loaded. The ethernet card and radeon are using different IRQ's so it doesn't seem to be a routing problem. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.
