As minimum this will be enough: FONTDIRS="Type1" UPDATECMDS="xftcache" font_update In this case the TrueType and CID directories will be configured by Defoma. I didn't know that version 4.3 won't use xftcache. If xftcace is going to have quiet a limited life, bigger changes are not desirable. Anton Zinoviev
