I don't promise any results, but can you try adding the following to the
"Modules" Section of your XF86Config-4?

           SubSection "extmod"
              Option  "omit XFree86-DGA"
           EndSubSection

When you do this, be sure you "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" and tell
debconf *NOT* to "manage your XFree86 X server configuration file".
