Not sure what you mean by that. When I say "server crash", I mean complete shutdown of X. However, since I use "gpm" (and read from "/dev/gpmdata" for the X mouse), this does not affect my mouse; I can use it in both X and the console. I wrote up the method for doing this in the Linux Gazette a while back, actually. BTW, more about the back-trace: I presume this requires installing the "xserver-xfree86-dbg" package. :) I just tried "apt-get install", etc., and it's 40MB in size. Since I'm connected via a cell-phone (I live on a boat at anchor) and there aren't any net cafes in this area, it's, umm, unlikely that I'll be able to do that.
