Thanks for following up with information about what happens when you use the nv driver. Are you aware of anything in particular that you are doing when the X server crashes? Judging by the log file, the X server runs for quite a while before crashing. Also, does xserver-xfree86 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8 rectify this problem? It features a major update to the nv driver code. -- G.
