Argh. Forgot the Option "DPMS" "on" line in /etc/X11/XF86Config
Pet peeve: *Why* does "xset q" claim that dpms is enabled, even though the above line isn't in the XF86Config and DPMS is clearly not turned on? Surely in this case, xset q should say "DPMS Disabled". Anyway, please close this bug (or is there a way for me to do so as the bug submitter?).
