1) Copy "dvorakclassic" into "/etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/".

2) Apply the included patches to the two like-named files in
   "/etc/X11/xkb/rules":

   cat *.diff | (cd /etc/X11/xkb/rules && patch -p0)

3) Set the new keymap. To do this, go to the Gnome panel menu,
   "Applications | Desktop Preferences | Keyboard...", then select the
   "Layouts" tab. Under "Available Layouts", scroll down, and find
   the "dvorakclassic" layout. Select it, and click the "Add" button.
   Perhaps you will want to remove the other configured layouts, or
   leave them there so you can switch between them. There is an
   applet under the panel right-click menu "Add to panel | Keymap
   indicator" that will allow you to switch keymaps at will.
