Hi Roland, there is an untested patch in #255286 (could someone test it?) to solve this issue, I sent a message to a dedicated mailing list http://lists.debian.org/debian-emacsen/2004/09/msg00019.html but it seems that your best option is to disable XKB for now. Denis
