the reportedly missing symbol is present in libGL. Could you check in the output of "ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/xdriinfo" that libGL.so.1 is in /usr/X11R6/lib, and that this file really comes from the xlibmesa-gl package (and not from the nvidia driver, for example). Thanks, Julien
