Hi,

I run etch and just pulled in the new Xorg via dselect. The result is that my
direct rendering does not work any more. The Xorg log says:

(II) RADEON(0): Direct rendering enabled

But glxinfo says:

direct rendering: No

I use the Ati Radeon 9200 which gets detected correctly by Xorg. After I
discovered that I could no longer play my shooters I tried some xorg options
related to dri, but they didn't work either.

Thx,

Malte

Hi Michel,

>The most common reason is that libgl1-mesa-dri isn't installed.

thx a great deal, that was the reason. I just don't understand why direct
rendering breaks when I upgrade using dselect. Unfortunately I did not check
exactly what dselect threw out on that upgrade, but I do upgrade frequently to
keep up to date with etch. IMHO this shouldn't happen.

Thx,

Malte

Please close the bug, but it would be nice if this does not happen for everyone
else that upgrades.
