Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.1.0-14
Severity: important
When X is launched from gdm (or from any display mgr as well, I suppose),
the /var/log/XFree86.*.log files get overwritten each time the server
restarts. Especially, when X crashes, all information is instantly lost.
I just had another crash, and have only the gdm-saved logs to give
(basically, the not-so-verbos output of the X server)

Closing since there is log rotation (the old log is renamed to .old
before the new replaces it). It's not exactly what you requested but
it's better than nothing.
