There's a new upstream release candidate (6.6.191 aka 6.7-rc1) in experimental, could you try it ? (xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.6.191-1). You will have to upgrade xserver-xorg-core to experimental too (2:1.2.99.903-1) and it will required libdrm2 (2.3.0-1).
