Hi, I guess this hang while switching between X and a matroxfb console hasn't been fixed yet, right? Even with mga driver 1.4.6 (currently in unstable)?
I am not very surprised to see some conflicts between matroxfb and the X server, some other drivers had similar problems in the past. There are some known problem upstream [1] [2] about matroxfb and Xorg. Looking a the kernel warnings, there's probably a problem in the kernel driver too. Also, the fact that you have UseFBDev in your xorg.conf probably does not help, did you try without it?
