Hi Jens, If this hang on low AGP memory still happens with the latest MGA driver in unstable (1.4.6), could you also your xorg.conf file? Also, do you have a matroxfb-enabled console? There are some known problems with conflicts between matroxfb and X, but they don't seem similar to your problem.
