I saw it getting closed, so I tried the version from unstable. As a result filed a different bug upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10937 (There seem to be a few simular but different problems.) At first look, I don't seem to have this problem anymore, but it's not usable at all anymore now, so I can't really tell.
