Wait, this change in my 1024x768 laptop's xorg.cong brought the bug back. < Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" --- > Depth 16 > Modes "800x600" > EndSubSection > SubSection "Display" > Depth 24 > Modes "800x600" Of course as I don't actually know how to confirm what resolution my monitor is using, being a rather elementary user, it would probably be best for me not to add more hazy statements to these bug reports... I can still use my computer and that's fine.
