Thinkpad R52: ============= xorg still reports two events on mouse button press. My trackpoint (/dev/input/mice) is the only configured input device in my config, touchpad is disabled. Starting Xorg without a config file leads to the same problems. Thus I can't access things like toolbar menus in firefox, opera, grip etc. In most applications they pop up and immediately close again. The relevant part of the Xorg log: (**) Trackpoint: Device: "/dev/input/mice" (**) Trackpoint: Protocol: "ImPS/2" (**) Trackpoint: always reports core events (**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" (==) Trackpoint: Emulate3Buttons, Emulate3Timeout: 50 (**) Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" (**) Trackpoint: ZAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 (**) Option "EmulateWheel" "on" (**) Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2" (**) Option "XAxisMapping" "6 7" (**) Trackpoint: XAxisMapping: buttons 6 and 7 (**) Option "YAxisMapping" "4 5" (**) Trackpoint: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 (**) Trackpoint: EmulateWheel, EmulateWheelButton: 2, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout: 200 (**) Trackpoint: Buttons: 11 (**) Trackpoint: Sensitivity: 1 (**) Trackpoint: Device: "/dev/input/mice" (**) Trackpoint: Protocol: "ImPS/2" (**) Option "CorePointer" (**) Trackpoint: always reports core events (**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" (==) Trackpoint: Emulate3Buttons, Emulate3Timeout: 50 (**) Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" (**) Trackpoint: ZAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 (**) Option "EmulateWheel" "on" (**) Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2" (**) Option "XAxisMapping" "6 7" (**) Trackpoint: XAxisMapping: buttons 6 and 7 (**) Option "YAxisMapping" "4 5" (**) Trackpoint: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 (**) Trackpoint: EmulateWheel, EmulateWheelButton: 2, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout: 200 (**) Trackpoint: Buttons: 11 (**) Trackpoint: Sensitivity: 1 (II) evaluating device (Trackpoint) (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Trackpoint" (type: MOUSE) (II) evaluating device (Trackpoint) (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Trackpoint" (type: MOUSE) (II) evaluating device (Keyboard) (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Keyboard" (type: KEYBOARD) (II) Trackpoint: ps2EnableDataReporting: succeeded (II) Trackpoint: ps2EnableDataReporting: succeeded As you can see the trackpoint gets added twice. /dev/input looks like this: /dev/input/: by-path mice mouse0 /dev/input/by-path: platform-i8042-serio-1-mouse Installed xorg packages: ii xorg 1:7.3+8 X.Org X Window System ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+8 the X.Org X server ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.1~git20071212-2 Xorg X server - core server ii xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:1.2.0-1 X.Org X server -- evdev input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-kbd 1:1.2.2-3 X.Org X server -- keyboard input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-mouse 1:1.2.3-2 X.Org X server -- mouse input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 0.14.7~git20070706-1 Synaptics TouchPad driver for X.Org/XFree86 ii xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.2.0-1 X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display d ii xserver-xorg-video-vesa 1:1.3.0-4 X.Org X server -- VESA display driver desktop system: =============== Also two input events on button press and the Xorg log shows two devices on /dev/input/mice. The content of /dev/input is the same. There is also only one configured mice in the Xorg config file. Installed Xorg packages are the same. > Still some rendering problems in firefox or so? There have never been any rendering problems. Just this input issue. Regards, Alex -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
