Just tested with 1:6.7.198~git20071223.ad3325f6-1, and it has only got
worse, I am afraid. The "load_detection" option makes absolutely no
difference, and now I cannot enable S-video at all:
$ xrandr --addmode S-video 800x600
$ xrandr --output S-video --mode 800x600
