Here's a bug that I was going to submit, but then I stopped trying to change my monitor's resolution and instead put up with the tiny fonts.
Anyway, maybe it is of use to you. If not then delete this message. Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.3+9 I notice a big problem. Assume there are two ways to make the monitor 800x600, instead of the default 1024x726. One is via xorg.conf. The other is via xrandr -s 800x600 at the top of the user's ~/.xsession. One would think they are equivalent, however many applications end up using different fonts in the latter case. E.g., firefox's toolbars. Therefore the X information passed to applications does not completely reflect the new state of affairs. Maybe it is one of these at work: DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS SSH_AUTH_SOCK WINDOWID WINDOWPATH XAUTHORITY=/home/jidanni/.Xauthority I'm not saying applications are using the font that they would at 1024x726, I'm just saying the two routes are not equivalent. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
