If you really want to test recent packages, xserver-xorg-core is now
2:1.4.1~git20080507-1 in unstable and video-intel is 2:2.3.1-1. Note
that there is no ABI difference between testing and unstable anymore, so
upgrading/downgrading between testing and unstable should be very easy.
By the way, does it help if you comment out the following line in your
xorg.conf?
Option "Rotate" "left"
