Dear Thomas, I get confused about these different timings. Originally I reported "real" times of up to 50 seconds; you seem to have corroborated 13 seconds of that in http://bugs.debian.org/384105#56 . I do not understand how you now got it down to 0.5 secs.
I still think that the bug is really in the X server not in xterm, despite the arguments in http://bugs.debian.org/384105#30 ; but I did not and do not know how to argue that.
