Gentlemen, xterm runs fine.
It's just that these days on experimental, not sid, one gets
xterm: cannot load font -Misc-Fixed-bold-R-*-*-18-120-100-100-C-180-ISO10646-1

So then I replaced
!*VT100.font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--18-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
*VT100.font: -*-*-*-*-*-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
in .Xresources.
But now I get
xterm: cannot load font -ETL-Fixed-medium-I-*-*-18-180-72-72-C-180-ISO10646-1
xterm: cannot load font -ETL-Fixed-bold-I-*-*-18-180-72-72-C-180-ISO10646-1
And what is actually bad is now the fonts are too small.

OK, now I clicked large fonts, and it says xterm: cannot load font
-Misc-Fixed-bold-R-*-*-18-120-100-100-C-180-ISO10646-1

But at least the characters are the right size again.

OK, I will use the line
*VT100.font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--18-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
But please tell me how to stop getting the error message.

xterm works fine. The problem is today I stared getting these error
message.

By the way, on the xterm man page, one sees
   Large (font5)
Set the font to that given by the *VT100.font5 resource.
OK, but how does one set that in .Xresources?
*VT100.font:*VT100.font5 No
*VT100.font:$*VT100.font5 No
*VT100.font:VT100.font5 No
*VT100.font:$VT100.font5 No
How does one do it?!

Does the .Xresources language have no way to do b=bla; a=$b? Is b
already set somewhere?
