Sorry I should have said xserver 1.6 plus 6.12.3-1 is fine
xserver 1.7 plus 6.12.4-2 is not good for 16bit colour.
I have not tried 6.12.3-1 on server 1.7 as there are conflicts in
installing.
# dpkg -i xserver-xorg-video-radeon_1%3a6.12.3-1_amd64.deb
