Package: x11-common Version: 1:7.3+20 Followup-For: Bug #408293 Hi,
yes, the FAQ is still missing. I think I am referring to the Debian X FAQ at the URL above. If you look in the BTS you will see bugs asking for changes to the FAQ, and if you look at /usr/share/doc/x11-common/changelog.Debian.old.gz, you will see many mentions of the FAQ (but none that I can find about its removal). I cannot now, three years after filing this report, remember why I expected to find the FAQ in the x11-common package, but clearly it would still be useful to have a copy of the still-existing online FAQ in some X package, and as you can see, the FAQ was in this package in the past. Ubuntu have removed the FAQ from their X packages because it contained information that was inaccurate for Ubuntu, and hence confusing, but I presume that reason doesn’t apply to Debian! -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages x11-common depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.24 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.30 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii lsb-base 3.2-20 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip x11-common recommends no packages. x11-common suggests no packages. -- debconf information: x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value: -10 x11-common/xwrapper/allowed_users: Console Users Only x11-common/experimental_packages: x11-common/xwrapper/actual_allowed_users: console x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value/error: x11-common/x11r6_bin_not_empty: * x11-common/upgrade_issues: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
