Booting with the stock linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-amd64 kernel can only start X as far as providing a black screen and a pointer. Neither kdm dialog nor its background image are visible. After a few switches to and from a totally black screen, I just get a VGA cursor. The system log contains quite a few messages of the following sort: [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung The X log also contains errors. Ill attach the Xorg.0.log, dmesg and lspci to a second email. Note that the problem arose when using no xorg.conf file.
