Your log has:

> checking for xf86Modes.h... no
> checking whether XSERVER_LIBPCIACCESS is declared... no
> configure: X server is missing new mode code and --with-xserver-source not 
> specified, using local copy

which is completely broken.  I get:

> checking for xf86Modes.h... yes
> checking whether XSERVER_LIBPCIACCESS is declared... yes
> checking for PCIACCESS... yes
> configure: X server has new mode code

and the package builds fine.
