I get a screen corruption: lots of horizontal lines on a big area of
the screen.
You should try with 6.13.0 and KMS since that's what will be in Squeeze. So:
* upgrade your kernel to linux-image-2.6.32-5-686
* install xserver-xorg-video-radeon 6.13.0
