Buster has just moved on to Thunar 1.6.14 by now - I can confirm that in
1.6.14 the bug is fixed for me, I see similar behaviour to what Chris
Tillman has reported, which is fine. The patch that I linked to above is
included in 1.6.14 so that seems consistent with what I'd expext to see.
I cannot vouch for Thunar 1.6.13; it seems to have temporarily adopted a
different patch entirely, namely this:

AFAICT, that patch was never included in upstream, and seems to have
been removed from Buster now that Thunar has gone to 1.6.14.
