Hello,

I've backported most of the Xfce 4.14 packages to debian buster(uploaded to
debian.mentors:
https://mentors.debian.net/packages/uploader/valdaer%40gmail.com),
had been using these for more than a couple of days and these have been
working
very well so far. I've seen on reddit and some other forums that some debian
users would want to use Xfce 4.14 on debian stable so maybe it is worth to
upload
these to debian-backports. I could track these packages for newer versions
in
backports and maybe in future I could help in packaging/maintenance of Xfce
debian packages.

I have some knowledge in debian packaging, I have my small private repo and
I've been backporting and packaging some packages(some from Xfce too) over
the past few years. These debian.mentors uploaded packages
(https://mentors.debian.net/packages/uploader/valdaer%40gmail.com) were
built by
gbp buildpackage with sbuild builder on debian buster created schroot from
https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-team repos with appropriate tags, I have
local git
branches however there weren't any patches/changes needed and there only are
changelog entries generated by dch --bpo.

Please reply if you are interested, and if yes let me know which packages
are
missing or already outdated. I've backported all packages which had newer
version in testing from https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-team/desktop,
https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-team/apps and most from the
https://salsa.debian.org/xfce-team/goodies. Also when these packages will be
ready to be accepted to debian-backports please let me know what is in your
opinion best way to upload these. Will one of you reupload it? or can you
give
me debian maintainer rights(at least temporary if it's possible)? I've read
about processes for new maintainers but it's not that clear to me.

I'm not sure this topic shouldn't be on the debian-backports mailing list
too
but even on backports page contribution section there is info to contact
concrete package maintainers/teams first.

Regards,
Sławomir Wójcik
