Hello, I tried to install just lightdm and openbox inside a minimal testing VM. It was started by even "older" "qemu-system-i386 -enable-kvm -cpu pentium-v1".
Unfortunately I just hit bug #1020802. When having those X drivers not being tried to load, then login works to the openbox DE. Can you still reproduce this issue? Kind regards, Bernhard https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1020802
