[This bug is NOT targeted to the upcoming trixie release] Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in a follow-up test rebuild. The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with gcc-15/g++-15, but succeeds to build with gcc-14/g++-14. The severity of this report will be raised before the forky release. The full build log can be found at: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2025/02/16/amd64exp/xfce4-mpc-plugin_0.5.3-1_unstable_gccexp.log.gz The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report. To build with GCC 15, either set CC=gcc-15 CXX=g++-15 explicitly, or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental. apt-get -t=experimental install g++ GCC 15 now defaults to the C23/C++23 standards, exposing many FTBFS. Other Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files. For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-15/porting_to.html [...] In file included from /usr/include/xfce4/libxfce4ui-2/libxfce4ui/libxfce4ui.h:36, from xfce4-mpc-plugin.c:25: /usr/include/xfce4/libxfce4ui-2/libxfce4ui/xfce-titled-dialog.h:74:1: note: declared here 74 | xfce_titled_dialog_new_with_buttons (const gchar *title, | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c: In function 'send_complex_cmd': simple-libmpd.c:314:11: error: too many arguments to function 'parse_answer_fct'; expected 0, have 2 314 | (*parse_answer_fct)(mo, res); | ~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~ simple-libmpd.c:331:11: error: too many arguments to function 'parse_answer_fct'; expected 0, have 2 331 | (*parse_answer_fct)(mo, res); | ~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~ simple-libmpd.c: In function 'mpd_status_update': simple-libmpd.c:376:37: error: passing argument 3 of 'send_complex_cmd' from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] 376 | send_complex_cmd(mo, "status\n", parse_status_answer, NULL); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | | void (*)(MpdObj *, void *) simple-libmpd.c:275:53: note: expected 'void (*)(void)' but argument is of type 'void (*)(MpdObj *, void *)' 275 | void send_complex_cmd(MpdObj* mo, char* cmd, void (*parse_answer_fct)(), void *res) | ~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c:343:6: note: 'parse_status_answer' declared here 343 | void parse_status_answer(MpdObj *mo, void* unused_param) | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c: In function 'mpd_playlist_get_current_song': simple-libmpd.c:499:45: error: passing argument 3 of 'send_complex_cmd' from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] 499 | send_complex_cmd(mo, "currentsong\n", parse_one_song, (void*) mo->cursong); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | | void (*)(MpdObj *, void *) simple-libmpd.c:275:53: note: expected 'void (*)(void)' but argument is of type 'void (*)(MpdObj *, void *)' 275 | void send_complex_cmd(MpdObj* mo, char* cmd, void (*parse_answer_fct)(), void *res) | ~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c:381:6: note: 'parse_one_song' declared here 381 | void parse_one_song(MpdObj *mo, void* param) | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c: In function 'mpd_playlist_get_changes': simple-libmpd.c:522:43: error: passing argument 3 of 'send_complex_cmd' from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] 522 | send_complex_cmd(mo, "playlistinfo\n", parse_playlistinfo_answer, (void*) md); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | | void (*)(MpdObj *, void *) simple-libmpd.c:275:53: note: expected 'void (*)(void)' but argument is of type 'void (*)(MpdObj *, void *)' 275 | void send_complex_cmd(MpdObj* mo, char* cmd, void (*parse_answer_fct)(), void *res) | ~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c:410:6: note: 'parse_playlistinfo_answer' declared here 410 | void parse_playlistinfo_answer(MpdObj *mo, void *param) | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c: In function 'mpd_server_get_output_devices': simple-libmpd.c:578:38: error: passing argument 3 of 'send_complex_cmd' from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] 578 | send_complex_cmd(mo, "outputs\n", parse_outputs_answer, (void*) md); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | | void (*)(MpdObj *, void *) simple-libmpd.c:275:53: note: expected 'void (*)(void)' but argument is of type 'void (*)(MpdObj *, void *)' 275 | void send_complex_cmd(MpdObj* mo, char* cmd, void (*parse_answer_fct)(), void *res) | ~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ simple-libmpd.c:447:6: note: 'parse_outputs_answer' declared here 447 | void parse_outputs_answer(MpdObj *mo, void *param) | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ make[3]: *** [Makefile:521: libmpc_la-simple-libmpd.lo] Error 1 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... make[3]: Leaving directory '/build/reproducible-path/xfce4-mpc-plugin-0.5.3/panel-plugin' make[2]: *** [Makefile:450: all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory '/build/reproducible-path/xfce4-mpc-plugin-0.5.3' make[1]: *** [Makefile:382: all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory '/build/reproducible-path/xfce4-mpc-plugin-0.5.3' dh_auto_build: error: make -j8 returned exit code 2 make: *** [debian/rules:7: binary] Error 25 dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2
