Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
Upgraded from Debian 12.12 (XFCE4 4.18) or installed fresh Debian 13.1 (XFCE
4.20.1)
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
For dual monitor system, configured side by side (not mirrored) selecting a
group of desktop icons and then:
1) dragging across the monitor boundary to the other monitor.
2) dragging to somewhere else on the same monitor area.
* What was the outcome of this action?
1) Only the one icon that was clicked and dragged from the group is moved to
the other monitor.
2) The group correctly moves together however, on releasing the mouse the group
is deselected and has to be reselected to move again.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
This behaviour is different from Debian 12.12 XFCE4 (4.18) which would
(correctly)
1) move the whole group across the monitor boundary and after releasing the
mouse from the move operation keep the group selected (so it can be moved again
as a group without having to reselect again) until a positive deselect action
was made, such as single click on the desktop in open background space.
2) after releasing the mouse from the move operation, keep the group selected
(so it can be moved again as a group without having to reselect again) until a
positive deselect action was made, such as single click on the desktop in open
background space.
