Package: xfdesktop4

Hi,

I have upgraded from Bookworm to Trixie recently.
While the upgrade generally worked fine, I now have no longer any icons on
the desktop, right-clicking on the desktop does nothing as well.

I'm also unable to choose a different desktop background image.
It seems there is some sort of a fallback image shown...

This all worked fine under Bookworm.

Any pointers where to look for?

I found that I have no xfdesktop process running.
Is this correct?

Thanks!

So long
Holger

I did a test install in a virtual machine with a fresh trixie installation,
and there I had a xfdesktop process, when the xfce4 session is running.

So I think that process is missing somehow.

I added xfdesktop to 'Application Autostart' in xfce4-session-settings, and
all works fine again!!!

Means, for whatever reason the xfdesktop process was not started automatically,
while it was under Bookworm !!!
(Please note, that I already asked, if it's ok, that there is no such process!)

Closing this bug.

Holger
