[debutant] Problem to install Mandrake 7.0

Hi, I got Mandrake 7.0 in a CD-ROM.
I have a Thinkpad 380D portable,with CD-ROM integrated.
I well runned the install program .And after booting, I choose Linux choice (2)
At a time, system asks me if i want to install with CD-ROM or others.
I choose CD-ROM. The system starts with the CD-rom and the message :
CD-ROM initialising ...
... And the system do nothing.
What's the problem !
What's wrong !
