Actually
JFS -- So far, failing some important tests, but we have hope, abd we
are in direct contact with the team.
XFS -- We are throwing everything at it now We have had really SUPER
cooperation from SGI. So far, it has endured more
punishment
than any of the others without complaint. We are hammering
it
because it was included late (not even in beta 3).
ext3 -- Backwards compatible/convertible with ext2 and the journal for
/ now plays back on boot. Solid, and does not interfere with
nfs, but slower than everything else except JFS and also higher
initial overhead.
Reiser -- Fastest in our benchmarks. Still crashes or slows IO
intolerably on
nfs after a day or two of heavy use. Stability problems
exist with
that default mount even yet, so we are defaulting to -notail
mounts
which are the only ones suitable fro mounting / or /boot. Nfs is
what crashes, though. High speed large transfers across nfs no
longer corrupt Reiser.
Apparently all will be in 8.1 though some may be labeled experimental
(which
may mean we broke something testing it, or that we don't think we tested
enough).
