Mozilla est un projet libre mais largement subventionne par Netscape. Mozilla est le produit de base, Netscape se servent du code comme base de leur propre navigateur. Galeon aussi est base sur Mozilla, mais il n'en utilise que le moteur (Gecko), au contraire de Netscape qui re-utilise beaucoup d'elements.
