I'm trying to set up and install declude virus for Imail 6.06 (not material).

We have been using the DOS command line NAVDX.EXE program for command line scanning on
Win 95/98
systems.

The NAVDX program is version 1.0 (which is the latest) and is created on the Norton
Antivirus
Emergency Floppy. It can use the current 5.0 virus definition files.

Works great in a window under Win 95/98, so we use that instead of the GUI version for
basic
scanning (since it runs synchronously and returns ERRORLEVEL, unlike NAVW32.EXE).

However, when I run this under Win NT Server 4.0 (SP 6a), I get an NT GUI box opening
up saying "the
application attempted to access the disk hardware directly which is not supported -
Terminate or
Ignore". Choosing "ignore" allows NAVDX to proceed normally. However, the GUI box
can't be
bypassed without a mouse click.

I believe this occurs because NAVDX is attempting to "touch" the system record and/or
the partition
table to verify that the hard drive is there - I saw some technotes to that effect -
something to do
with trying to repair damage caused by viruses that make the hard drive disappear.

I can't seem to bypass this action by NAVDX.

I am using options: /B- /M- which should stop it from scanning the boot record and
memory.

Anyone encounter/solve this problem??

Thanks.
